2006 Durango trans problem?

Simple answer, no.
Don, could he try taking off the TPS and spray it down with electronics cleaner before purchasing a new one (clean it first before buying a new one and obviously letting it dry before re-installing it)? Or doesn't the TPS on the Durango's just go out and nothing you do fixes the issue?
(I know when the MAF on f-bodies and vettes gets dirty *or when using a oil style air filter and oil from the filter gets on the maf* can cause tranmission issues. Cleaning the MAF with electronics cleaner can take care of the issue).

Well it's not the tps just changed it same think just when pass 30 mph then it shifts to a higher gear it starts acting like I'm going over speed bumps or missing. Same thing between 45-55. Wtf. Is going on.Its only in overdrive when it is in tow it never does it its like the rpms are to low and to high of a gear.
Ill try that next I do have a k&n filter I had issues with a previous mustang I owed with the maf.
Ok just found out NO MAF sensor.Do you guys think it could be the MAP sensor it said it could cause inconstant shifting? This is driving me crazy I need to solve this problem before I have to pay the dealer to look at my durango and tell me they cant find anything wrong.Somebody had to have similar problems before.

Perch:
A bad TPS is not known to cause the CE light to trip. When I experienced the convertor issue on my 2001 D, there was no light.
Replacing the TPS did the trick.
You will find there are lots of issues that can arise with vehicles these days that do not trip the CE light.

If memory serves, I think the TPS is a sealed unit and not cleanable. At the time, it was a $30 part so I swapped it and it cured my issue.
Perch, did you do a battery disconnect reset after the install to clear out any possible tainted data?
It could not hurt. What kind of shape is your battery in? The trans is electronically controlled and if the battery is weak it can cause issues.
Are your spark plugs oem or have you changed them? The factory interval is 30K, but they should not be that worn at 54K. I swapped out the oem plugs on a 2003 4.7D at 90K, and although the gaps were pretty big, the rig started and ran fine.
The 545RFE trans is pretty stout so having such issues at only 54K is unusual.

i had the same issue last week. 46k miles. 2006 durango, 3.7L mine was at 40-50 and at 70-75. brought it to the dealership. they reset the the tran program, didn't fix it. the got into to it deeper, and told me it was the torque converter. not sure if it fixed it yet, they have had it for a week now and still waiting on part. but i am having fun driving the 2013 crew, loaded while im wating. not sure if this helps, and i am new to the group. i am looking for some club guys in the central , daytona florida area, to meet up with. i am thinking of overhauling the stl and adding some things.
