Default Fuel overflow recall and rust

Anyone have rusting under the fuel door? Anyone get this fixed as part of the recall? My 06 is bubbling and chipping due to rust and it's only under the fuel door leading me to believe it is related to the fuel overflow issue.

My quarter panel about an inch or two under my fuel door started to rust a few years ago.

My 2004 has rust under fuel door too. I had it repainted but the rust came back a couple months later.

You mean rust like the pictures below? The body shop said that they would have to cut out the bad and weld in a new piece to fix it properly. Quote from them was $600.
For $600 bucks I am going call the Customer Service Center and ask them about it. I don't feel that there would be a rust issue here if the fuel wouldn't have spilled there at almost every fill up for the past 3 years.

What are your thoughts?

I have rust in the same area(s). Also had overfill problems. What did Chrysler say?

They told me they do not cover any collateral damage from a recall. I tried the dealership and Chrysler themselves. Worst part I asked many moths ago about the door seam rust and they said its was over 60k not covered, now I asked about the rust under the gas door and they said well its over 90k so no and the spilling gas rust is collateral damage and not covered under the fuel tank recall. The person on the phone said can we do anything else. CLICK. Really makes me think twice on my next purchase..

I had the fuel overflow work done on my 2006 Durango. I don't have any rust under the fuel door. I have noticed rust in the seam at the bottom of the driver side rear door. No place else, though.

Default soon to be a rust bucket

I sure have rust. Under the gas door, all door jams, plus water must run down the top seam on the roof because when it rains, my seat belt is always wet. Maybe full of rust and mold in there. I love my dodge but not the stupid rust or the way they weatherproofed the darn thing. I was quoted $800 to cut it out and replace. My new dodge, if I get one, will need to be coated underneath before it drives in the rain.
