I just got through putting together a 2004 dodge durango 4.7 timming set. All the guides,tensioner arms and chains were worn out but it was still running. Before i tore it down i set ll the timming to specs and marked everything. When i firied it up it sound like one of the tensioners were making noise as if it wernt pumped up with oil and it also spits back it u accelerate hard. So i think maybe the timming is off but i cant figure out how. The check engine light is also on now, any help would be appreciated.

 

Just curious, but what code shows up with the check engine light?

Did you take the spocket off the idler shaft?
