I have a 04 Durango, the right windshield wiper quit working, I took it to pep boys and they told me the wiper transmission needed to be replaced, so I did that myself, and now the only way I can get the wipers to work is is I adjust the arms straight up on the windshield, they work but then stop in the up position on the windshield, I tried unplugging the motor and and manually turning the linkage to try and get the stop position laying down where it supposed to be and when I turned the wipers on they just pulled down even further.
I called a mechanic and he told me that there is a short in the motor and it needs to be replaced also, can someone please help and tell me if i need a motor or if there is a different solution , Drew
