I've searched and come up with the typical "interior lights won't go off" issue but here is mine. 2006 Durango I've owned for 9 years. All the recalls are done... For about the last year the interior dome light (including rear hatch interior light) doesn't come on when opening the doors or via the dash thumbwheel. They work fine when they are pushed in manually at the light.

They mysteriously started working for about a month last summer, then went out again with identical symptoms.

I've heard its the Body Control Module, loose connections at the dash cluster and the PCM on the RH fender. Nothing definitive. I'm a handy guy and maintain my '61 and '63 split window Corvette myself so I just need pointed in the right direction to clear this up...

I figured it out myself. Completely removed gauge cluster and sprayed all connectors liberally with electrical contact cleaner and firmly reconnected everything and all is well now. Interior lights were perfectly...
