Default 06 Durango EGR problem?

I have an 06 Durango, 5.7 HEMI, AWD. I've replaced the egr valve three times now. The first time I thought nothing of it. Second time I thought junk NAPA parts(warranty). Third time, gotta be another issue. I had the codes cleared by the guys at the parts store, the ones that say they're not supposed to clear the codes. And I disconnected the battery per the internet's instructions once. We went on a trip over the weekend and dang if the engine light didn't come on again. I haven't had it scanned yet....but if it says EGR again, could I really have that bad of luck? Or is there something else affecting the egr?
Thanks in advance. I'll try to get it scanned this weekend to make sure it doesn't say it's something else.

Need to know just which code is popping up to see if it is whining about the valve, the solenoid, or something else.

Haven't got it scanned yet....and the "on, off, on..." doesn't seem to work for me. The light is off now and has been for the last two days I've drove it. Its the wife's daily driver, so l dont know how often the light came on through the week. Depends on my work schedule tomorrow, I might can pick it up and run it somewhere. Thanks for replying.

That could be a bad sensor (EGR position), bad valve, or, simply a dirty valve. If it's easy to get to, yank it, and see what it looks like. Be sure and check the wiring for the position sensor as well. A break, or short, will set the code too.

It's new, maybe 3 weeks old. Codes were cleared after it was replaced. The o-ring on the tube where it seats in the throttle body is the only thing that has not been replaced pertaining to the EGR.

How does the passage in the intake look? Not all clogged up is it? May want to also run the wires, and see if anything obvious presents itself. (pinched or broken wire.)

It was all clean. I did have the whole tube off, just didn't replace the o ring at the throttle body. I do run 89 octane gas in it, per the owners manual instructions.
I'll check the connector, wiggle wires, see if that's a possibility. I'll get the wife to watch the light while I do it. Should turn it on immediately I'd I find something.
Could an 02 sensor not be reading right so it thinks the EGR is not working? If that's the case I could just have to deal with an engine light for a while.
I'll post back if/when I find the problem. Thanks again.

There is a position sensor in the EGR valve that the PCM is upset with. So, it's gotta be something with the EGR valve itself, or the wiring for it. Worst case..... bad PCM.

I wiggled wires and checked the connector, still coming on and off as it pleases. Connector may be the issue, who knows. I'll get the valve off soon and see if there's something obvious in it. Maybe get the o-ring for the tube/throttle body connection. Thanks.
