Default Roar/grumble

I have an '05 Durango with 134k. Always been a great running truck. Recently there is a rumble/roar that builds up around 40mph to about 60 when maybe wind noise washes it out. Seems to come from the left front. Sounds like a wheel bearing BUT, doesn't change when I steer left or right. In my 30+ year experience wrenching, (front) wheel bearing noise will change when you steer left or right reasonably hard at speed. It is linked to the drivetrain, doesn't change if I slip into neutral and/or rev the engine. I suppose could also be tread noise.

Any tips on what/how to check? Other things it could be? Will probably swap the LF wheel with the spare later this week. Taking a fairly long trip with the truck in a couple weeks, don't want any issues.

TIA

JH

Yeah, that's going to be a bearing somewhere in the driveline. Could put it up on jackstands, and run it, see if you can isolate where the noise is coming from. (Just be VERY CAREFUL)

turn them by hand before actually running it.. see if you can find it manually first.
