I just pulled my 2005 Durango 5.7 liter Hemi out of the garage and shut it off.
Now when I start it the idle goes to 4000 RPM.
No codes at all. Hooked the scanner up and nothing.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jim
Strange there are no codes; however, high idle are usually attributed to Throttle Position Sensor, PCV (either the valve or a vacuum leak), or Idle Air Control valve. Since you aren't getting a code, my fist guess would possible be the TPS failing. Sometimes, the codes are stored as grey initially and after x amount of times in x amount of time, it will finally trip the code. (Or go away if it doesn't happen again). Perhaps start it several times, if you haven't already, to see if a code pops up. There are a few other smaller things it could be like a dirty butterfly valve in the throttle body as well.
