Rent a pressure tester which attaches to the radiator cap and adds air pressure to the cooling system. Pump up to the max PSI indicated on your radiator cap. This allows you you to pressurize it and search for leaks, without a hot running engine. There are many places it can leak from, including the heater hoses and the pipes attached to them, that traverse the engine. Those begin at the block and run to the firewall.

If your able, check the heater hoses at the firewall.Given the discription of where leek is and it,s flow pattern.Could be a minor tighten clamp or fatique on a hose.Just athought....................
