Default coolant temp sensor

Hi all,

My 2009 4.7L Durango has been having issues, my temp gauge dropped to 0 while driving and the engine light, Temp light and Throttle control light all came on.

I tested the dash gauges and all are working. Key to on while trip button held

I have changed the thermostat and the gauge moves now.

I took a drive and seemed to run fine but the temp gauge is all over the place, when I got home I popped the hood and the engine was not hotter than usual. So i'm thinking a sensor is toast.

Ideas?

Throwing codes P0117, P0508, P2181

I would replace the coolant sensor first and recheck. Also inspect your wires to see if any are pinched.
