Default Transfer case chain noise?

Trying to figure out what this noise is. Only happens when at a complete stop facing up on an incline, then start to accelerate. Driving on normal surface roads. I have not tried to see if this issue happens in 4 lock. 2004 SLT Durango all wheel drive.

Transfer case chain? Transfer case itself?

Might help if you tell us what you are driving, and is it all wheel drive? Or are you driving on 4wd??

Yeah, I can see how that would be concerning..... Does sound like a slipping chain though. How many miles on it?

Got enough mileage on there for it too....

Jack up one end or the other. Engine off, trans in park, t-case in AWD.... see how far you can turn the driveshaft on the end that's up in the air..... Shouldn't get more than about a quarter to half a turn. If you get more than that...... Time to investigate deeper.
