Default Keyless entry is kaput

The keyless entry on the wife's 2004 D is gone. Tried replacing the battery, but it looks like the key/transmitter itself may be the problem. It will work sporadically with her key, not at all with mine, but it has been a progressive failure. The local stealership told her it was her fault as she *must* have been "throwing" her keys, and it would$200 per key to get new ones. Obviously, they know how to make friends and influence people. (this is not the dlr we bought the truck from, this outfit has a well-deserved reputation as a "stealership")

Is this a known problem? I need to get this fixed, but if I have to pay $300-400 every couple years for freakin' keys (on top of $250 spark plug changes, etc etc), I'll get rid of the truck and buy something reliable. [:@]

After you get done whining, open the key fob up and see if the battery post has become separated from the board. Resolder posts carefully. If you are incompetent, which it seems you are, have an electronics shop perform it for you.

If this is not your problem, whaaaaaaa whaaaaa whaaaaa all the way home.

Your welcome, mama's boy.

Did you expect to get sympathy here? Instead of throwing a temper tantrem you should have first called the 1 800 dodge line. The sqeaky wheel gets the grease! If that didn't work, that is when you write a rational post. This board is full of too many who cannot turn a wrench. If you can't do the work expect to pay. This is a board for information and knowledge. If you need a shoulder to cry on, take your mangina to www.whogivesa****.com.

First, learn English - I have no idea what a "sqeaky" wheel is. Second, it may be that my expectations are a bit higher than a mobile home resident like yourself. For example, I don't expect topay over $35K for a vehicle with such poor design and engineeringthat relatively simple parts fail in less than 3 years. Of course, a good ol' white trash cooter like yourself probably has somewhat lower expectations. No surprise there.

Now I know why you are crying. You have a total communication problem in general. You got raped on buying your wife's Durango, because you are too afraid to speak up. So, to vent your anger, you come and rant on a forum. You are tough behind a computer though! When you get that water from behind your ears you will find all new cars have problems. I have never owed a new car(japanese or other) that has not had a problem. Some people are just better prepared for life and you are not one of them, Boy! Or should I say biotch!

Oh, I'll correct my spelling when you find your manhood.

WOW! You guys need to stop.
The key fobs from Chrysler have been like that for years. I have onwed several Mopar products and they all have done the same thing. You will need to resolder to battery post. No big deal just 5 minutes of your time.

If your not up to reshodering, I called a dealer when I thought I had lost my keys. They quoted me $62 for a new key, and $40 to program. This is keyless entry only, not equipped with the sentry guard system.
