Multiple Issues with 2004 Durango....
I have been having the same A/C problems that have been talked about throughtout the forums, intermittant warm air until shutting down and restarting the Durango, but I have had other issues as well. The U-Connect system was working when I recieved my "D" (after I went out and bought a new phone with Bluetooth-$$$). That option was fantastic by the way - when it worked, BUT three days after purchase it died. The dealer looked at it (along with the A/C which at the time was working and did not exhibit the problem for them - figure!) and stated that I would need a software update that was not currently available for the U-Connect, with no date on the horizon when it would be available. Now I notice that the Elapsed Time "ET" function in the overhead console runs 4 or more minutes off every hour.
Can all of these issues be due to the same software issues? Has anyone else seen these problems with thier "D"? I find it hard to believe that "DC" is putting U-Connect in so many vehicles, but does not have the software to make it work! I have also seen that there have been mentions of an available software update for the A/C, yet the issues continue. This Truck follows my ownership of three Dakotas, which were problem free - a large point in my decision to stay the course with Chrysler. Now this. Don't get me wrong, I feel "DC" makes a good product, just maybe a little hasty with the 2004 "D".

Not onlly is the software different for every model of car it is different for several different packages within each model. Engineering works pretty hard at getting it all straight but new things pop up every day. It is not uncommomn for a car to have 6-8 software updates for the same module with in a year.

RE: Multiple Issues with 2004 Durango....
Thanks, I have heard about the fuse before and again removed, checked and reinserted the fuse(s) all the way. Did not seem to correct the problems with the U-Connect and the overhead timer.
I find it hard to believe at this point that the U-Connect is a software issue. The system "was" working when the truck was delivered, if it was a software issue (like the A/C) I would think resetting it would render it where it was on delivery - I have not seen it work again after it failed the first time, unlike the A/C which is hit or miss. I still see that "DC" is selling and installing the system in other vehicles. I do not know about the overhead timer though. Has anyone out there actually timed thier timer against a watch to see if thiers is acurate? For that matter is there any others experiencing issues with thier U-Connect?
