My sister in-law bought a 2002 Intrepid from a dealership with a 3 month warranty 3 weeks ago. Well the check engine light has been on ever since she got it home and after several return trips to have the check engine issue resolved it still hasn't been resolved. This morning I pulled the codes using the key on-off, on-off, on method and retrieved a PO300-random multiple cylinder misfire. Is there something to look for besides changing the plugs? I have a suspicion that something else is going on here to cause the code since the dealership has not remedied the check engine light. I fear that maybe the coils are weak or some other expensive problem is the cause and the dealership is not wanting to fork out the money for the proper repair. They told her that she could continue driving it with the check engine light on as if that would be some sort of consolation. Well that is a load of crap!

Does anyone have any experience with this code or know what possible causes besides plugs would throw this code? The car has 49,000 miles which is kinda low for this year of car. I'm hoping it isn't a car that has been plagued with problems and spent more time in the shop than on the road. Any help would be appreciated.
