Brake lights problem
HI
I have Intrepid 2000 model. Last week brake lights stop working. I checked the bulbs and the fuse . Both were gone. So i replaced them and when i tried brake again the fuse blown immediately. I think the wire is shorting somewhere. Need help to fix this problem? Dealer is asking $70 just to check it + the repair cost. Pl help.........

Top of the second gen fourm, download PDF in "the Holy Grail". It is a complete 2nd gen shop manual (with schematics). That with a mulit meter (or test light), and you should be good. If you are not familiar with schematics/ele work, I'd suggest either a local friend, or you may need to go to the dealer.
Thanks for posting the reply.
I tried to fix this problem with the help of Schematics and by using multimeter. Spent almost an hour, opened both the tail lights and checked without them, but couldn't find the short and also blew 2 more fuses($4.99) in the process. Finally i took the car to canadian tire and they fix the 2 side brake lights (0.8 hr labour - $75 ) but told me that i have to change the harness for the center one. They don't have that in stock. I think they found the wire shorting somewhere near the junction of both the brake lights and the top light. Now i am not able to open my trunkfrom inside. I think they messes up something. Have to take it back to them..........
