Default 2004 intrepid

working on a guys car, and he left the lights on, it drained the battery. I have replaced the battery, and now when he tries to crank you hear a click, click, click noise. He had this problem right before i changed the battery. The engine will rotate but not crank over. Any ideas?

good ole 2.7 v6 engine..

Thanks,

Sounds like the battery is either 1) Not charged up enough or 2) The Connections on the battery terminals are loose.

I'd Check the Terminal cables, if there tight I would hook a charge box to the battery or use jumper cables and hook to another car and let the other car run and the jumper cables sit on there for a few mins and see if it cranks then.

If there plenty of crank and its not turning over I would start with the fuel pump. Verify there is fuel in the tank, have someone crank the motor while your beat on the gas tank, if she fires up then its a bad fuel pump. Fuel pumps are wierd as they can be bad and still work intermedatly. And most of the time a few good whacks will get them to work again. If thats not the case then it could be a number of other issues as to why the motor wont fire up.

PS: 2.7 is the worst motor Chrylser ever made. They have a design flaw and sludge up like no other, check out this post here for more info on that. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/dodge-i...e-problem.html

Good luck, report back.
