Default 2002 random stalling???

Hey guys, I'm having a huge problem with my 2002...for the last few months, about once a week my car just randomly stalls and won't restart for about 5-15 minutes. Eventually it starts back up and runs fine, but I never know when or where it's going to happen.

I can't really tell you very much, and I apologize in advance for the lack of info...the check engine light comes on when it stalls, and the last couple times it has stalled the car has restarted as soon as my friend twisted the cable linkage in the front of the engine.

I'm thinking it's a short someplace and not the fuel pump, but really have no clue.

It is the 3.5L engine.

Thanks for the help!!

Default Sensors

Change the Sensors, I had the same problem. It only will get worse.
Intrepids have Sensor issues
Could be any of these two: CRANK POSITION SENSOR OR CAMSHAFT SENSOR. I bought them both online for about $100.00 and got a mechanic to put them in for $50 Bucks...Car Runs great now

Any code with the engine light? Also try unplugging the map sensor and seenif it starts right up. With it unplugged it will cause a engine code a d light but if it starts and runs , I'd change it.

Ps I have seen the crank sensor not trip an engine code (with the reader...but it did give a code with the key trick) but not the cam.

Ah, it screws into the side of the intake manifold. You can't miss it. It is the one with the electric connector on the SIDE of the intake manifold ( not the back).
