if you have spark you have a valid crank sensor. but if you really want to change it because it seems the best method of automechanics...change parts until it works. the crank sensor is in the trans bellhousing. but in typical internet useless assistance, I haven't a clue as to if you get at it from the top or from underneath.

Well I finally got around to changing the crank position sensor and low and behold what do I find the car started ran like **** and stalled, checked the plugs and they were fine wasn't expecting them to be fouled out. But what I thought wasn't wrong was, timing belt slipped and skipped a few teeth. I told my girl the news and she wasn't to thrilled I think royally pissed is more like it. I told her I could fix it but it would take a few days but to my thinking I know what she was gonna say. She wants to junk it, so I got to do as she wants so if any one lives in Connecticut and wants a good parts car let me know because I'm thinking within a week she wants it gone if not its off to the highest paying junk yard. Body is in good shape, interior is very good transmisssion is strong just the timing belt is messed up. So let me know if anyone wants a cheap parts car thinking in the area of $500 for the car just gotta ask my girl want she wants.

geez what a run around. you said in post 1 you checked the belt. give her the $500, you fix it (takes like 2hrs tops), then sell it of big $. that's how you can make money and get ahead in life. you'll end up paying yourself like $200/hr if you figure your labor vs. profit.

She honestly doesn't want the car, we've been fighting with a few issues with it for a while. She thinks it's haunted or something, I drove the car for 6 months never had one issue with it, she drives it for a week, and theres a issue. I'd rather see her happy vs fighting with her car and bringing her down. She's driving my old trusty my Jeep until she figures out what she wants to do with the car. But hey I haven't been able to kill my Jeep and after 700,000 miles if I haven't killed it, she wont be able to. I trust my Jeep with my life, just not with my friends wife. But hey $500 for a parts car, that ain't bad I am honestly getting tired of fixing this car. Plus all the money I've been dropping into it (not her) could of bought me a new AR-15 or at least a new Kimberly 1911 .45 ACP.
