2000 intriepid 2.7l vin u swap with 2002 vin r
Swapped a dodge intrepid 2000 2.7l vin u with a 2002 2.7l vin r ... Will turn over but won't fire ... Dino says no compression on 3 cylinders ... How do i modify engine to fire
Ok, Im am assuming the car is a 2000, correct? The only way to know compression is with a gauge. If you truly have NO compression on a whole bank then that would be catastrophic. Not very likely.
On the Intrepid in 2002 the PCMs went to NGC type (New Generation Controller) The 2000 model did not have this type yet. Your flexplate is going to be fine, however you are going to have to use the driver's side cam gear from the 2000 engine for the cam and crank sensors to be able to sync together with the PCM. The slots in the cam gear pickup and flexplate pickup are arranged different between old style and NGC. At least you don't have to pull the engine out...that's good.
