Default brake light

got a question for you guys. Since I drive an ATX I usually don't put the parking brake on. But sometimes when i am leaving work when i take the car out of park and slide it into drive and hit the gas the brake light comes on, when the parking brake is not set. Why is this?

yeah usually i park so that i have to back up and then put it in drive and go. For some reason if i hit the gas in reverse it is fine but then I stop and put it in drive and hit the gas and it comes on.

I will try topping off brake fluid

this maybe a stupid question but are your brakes sqealing? Is everything in good mech. order and its just the light coming on. It might be the self adjusting screw in the rear drum brakes. im not sure on this so correct me if im wrong but like i said i might WAY off lol.

ok here is why I said top of your fluid as the pads wear down they stay closer too the rotor so there is less fluid in the resiovor and more in the lines and calibers. the senser for the resiovor sits in the front so when you pull away like bat out of hell the fluid moves back and the senser think the fluid is low triggering the brake light
