i have a stock 05 neon sxt and when im reving up my engine in nuetral its makin wierd sounds. i rev it to about 3 or 4 thousand rpms and it makes this like shooting sound and the whole car shakes. if anyone can tell me why would be great, also its an automatic

which one are u talking about the rev limiter while u are parked or the one while driving. But my question is why u want to remove it? you are going to destroy your tranny and engine

 

im just wondering how i can rev my engine more just screwing around the other day me and my friend were reving him in his wrx and he was way louder cuz i have to stop at 4thousand rpm

 

The 4k ATX rev limiter is in place to protect the transmission...no way to remove it...

 

the revlimiter is at 4k? my girls 03 sxt revs to 6k

 

In neutral/park for an ATX the rev limiter is 4,000 RPM's...in drive the rev limiter is 6,750.
