First, I thought Airwolf was working on something like this (?)...she said her husband hand-made her flip flop trunk and she was going to post a link or sumthin...
Second, i went out and checked out the trunk hinge, I cansee what u r talkin about, ..there are like 2 bolts on each side, and i you remove the bottom (or forward) one, then cut a slot in that metal bracket, it would pivot on the one bolt left on each side... only thing would be how would the single key-latch hold down the back side?.. seems like there would be nothing to pull down and seal the back of the trunk next to the back window?
EDIT: oops, looks like I posted at the same time as you, ...what we need isa close up of the underside of that...almost like a shot thru the back window, looking up

Thats my husbands way I gave j_son my husbands instuctions and pics to do it and its safe and wont hit the rear window at all. If anyone wants my instructions just pm me your email address and Id be happy to email you them . Now workin on my flip flop hood and will have my evo5 full kit on in the next month or two.
Using a hacksaw doesnt look bad at all the way my husband has done it . Im emailing them to all that pmed me . Have fun and let me know how you like your flip flop trunk.
