I would highly suggest againt working on your engine while it is still hot...to take the pulley off, just get a 3-jay from Autozone, find an appropriate insert (dont use the crank bolt or you'll risk stripping the threads). Once the stock pulley is off, put the new pulley in an oven at 450 degrees for 30 minutes. Take the new pulley out of the oven, and slide it right onto the crank. Its as easy as that...
it looks real similar to the UR.. How are any better than others? they all look similar and go in the same spot and for the most part are same size. i dont know i just was curious
The pulley puller pushes "inward" on the insert while pulling "outward" on the pulley itself. Some people use the stock crank pulley bolt but I would be worried about stripping the threads on the bolt or the inside of the crank...one option is getting an extra crank bolt, then grinding off the bolt head and threads to use as an insert...I've actually used a long socket extension though [8D]but I really wouldnt suggest that either. Did I explain that ok?
kinda..... idk i've never really looked at it, on my car so im having trouble picturing what your talking about... but for the most part it seems like its a bigger pain in the neck to do it myself than to have someone else do it.....
