Thanks everyone for the response and as far as getting what I paid for this is just for fun, Im not serious about gettin HP I just want a little something more. Plus instead of gettin a nice one im saving the money for a Srt4...

 

well you should at least get urself a better filter for it..... thats all i have to say...

freerider there is no need to convince me of anything, i know what happened to my car and it did hydrolock. it is a possibility and obviously i am proof of that. i do have a CAI and I do know where it sits, no need to "HATE" to explain anything, if you "HATE" doing it so much why bother. let someone who is more understanding and willing to help take care of it. regardless of whether you have a CAI or notyou should still be careful how you drive your car as ANYTHING can happen. all i was doing was lettingsawhiskey knowthat it did in fact happen to me, there is absolutely no problem with that. as 03RTsaid it "hardly ever" happensmeaning it is a possibility, and when it did happen to me it was not a big or deep puddle by any means. it also did happen to a friend of mine in his eclipse but it wasn't as severe, and on that exact same day a brand new mazda had gone to that same shop because it hydrolocked on a small puddle. not sure if that was true or not but he said he drove really fast over a puddle and his car stalled (could have been lying)

 

I also have a ebay intake with a k&n filter until shows start than I will put back in my awesome lookin and soundin cf filter. I also dont buy something becasue of the brand name . I go for different not for what everyone else has.

 

Well to me airwolf all it is metal pipe, and the filter is what makes the difference. I am sure the Od of the pipe an the angles an where it sits make a difference too. But as far as hydrolock my friends CRX sucked up water and destroyed his engine too.

 

Again with hydrolock, it can happen, it does happen to a VERY small number of Neons and you should be aware of the risk before installing a CAI, even though that risk is next to nothing. As for comparing the possibility of hydrolock on a Neon to other cars, such a comparison is irrelevent.

 

I dont care really, if your so scared of ruining/breaking your car you really shouldnt be buying performance parts for it. Plus if it does do it then gives me a reason to buy an srt4 motor or something else. hehe im still waitin on that damn part, friday will be a week.

 

i dont think it has anything to do with anyone being scared of ruining their car, i think regardless of what people buy for it no one wants to damage their car.
