Well airwolf...let me ask you something then. Did your husband get hurt in the accident? If not, then I think it did its job then. Imports are just as prone to being "weaksauce" as a neon is. Obviously some probably are better and some might be worse.

Well...they could make them stronger. They aren't stupid over there lol. Remember...its just they way they wanted the car you know? They could add some serious steele to the car and make it invincible. The reason they didn't is for a few reasions like...to be light weight(which leads to speed or gas mileage), cheaper car for the not so rich. Dodge has made some pretty beastly machines in their day. The charger, cuda(yeah, plymouth, neon was plymouth too), SRT-4 haha. I have seen an SRT-4s destroy import cars. Not just hyundias either. Go on youtube and you will see that 80% of the SRT-4 beat Evos(rough estimate). They are pretty equally modded too.
But yeah...I was just defending dodge lol. If my neon was destroyed I would probably get an import as well. Some of them are just sweet to mod. Don't you want a Scion TC though?

"Actually" if you look at the age of drivers in accidentsin the neons/SRT-4s you'll see they are younger and more inexperienced compared to most other brands/makes due to the low price of the cars. The high performance and torque steerof the SRT-4 makes it more dangerous in anyone's hands. Do your research before making blanket statments that leave you wide open for criticism........

Not to mention the fact that our cars are built to have light-construction zones that can crumple up in specific points to try to save the driver's life in the event of a high-speed front-end collision. Cars can be replaced... people can't. Back in the day you could take a '67 Fairlane and whoop a poll or another car with it and the car would survive relatively well... but the driver would have serious trauma or be killed... I'd rather destroy my Neon than destroy me (it would give me a great excuse to pick up a nice Stealth RT/TT or SRT4 he he he).

Go ask any mechnic or any dodge dealership about neons . Ive read that the neon is the most deadlyist from consumer mags . Also I would get brand new sti if I was going to get an import. My sxt had no aftermarket bumper it was a stock just like yours and the hood was stock just like most of yours its just the way he hit the minivan that damaged the frame somewhat. He didnt hit her that hard to get killed or even hurt .Just saying I would never get another neon after the damage a little tiny accident caused . I love my sxt and glad shes not totaled but my next rides not going to be a neon. Shes my show ride and im keepin her for my 2nd ride . Lookin for a 1st ride by next yr.

I think ANYONE would take a freaking STI or an EVO over a regular dodge neon. Not much of a fighting point there. As to the rest of your mods...it sounds like you just went to modern and wrote all the stuff down.

Like others have said, they are designed to protect the passengers in car. Meaning if they get in an accident they crumble to take the impact rather then the people in the car. I know people with imports and guess what, their cars crumbled too. But guess what, they survived with minimal injuries because the car took the impact rather then the person. I bet I could build a car that didn't crumble, but the driver or anyone else in the car would absolutely be screwed if it ever got into an accident.
