^^Best short shifters on the planet. I have the 72% reduction and its amazing!
Has anyone else here ever just cut some length off the stock shifter, replaced the bushings, and put an aftermarket **** on it? Leverage-wise (and physics-wise)it seems to me that the throw and feel would work out the same... just curious if anyone ever tried that and an aftermarket short-throw and noticed a difference.

Its more based on the shifter geometry, not so much the actual leverage of the rod/****. On the rod style aftermarket STS's for example, they are generally 1" shorter compared to stock, and give a 30% left to right throw reduction, and no throw reduction from front to back. On the otherhand, an entire STS assembly such as the Mopar (30%), Mopure (50%), and Maddog (50%, 72%, 80%)have actually changed the shifter geometry to reduce the throw in every direction up to 80% (Maddog). Harder bushings wouldnt shorten the throw either, they are designed to eliminate or reduce the play in the shifter cables on the assembly side and transmission side.

i was going to get a megan racin short shifter for mine but it wont fit wen i do da swap
If your talking about the SRT-4 swap...we use the same shifters they do. But dont waste your money on a rod style STS, becuase that only shortens the throw left to right, not front to back.
