Hi, its been a while since ive posted on these forums.

so, heres my problem(s)

my air conditioner doesnt work, what are things that i should check to make sure that i dont replace a part that doesnt need to be replaced?

my dad thinks its the compressor, but i want to make sure so that we dont go replacing un-necessary parts.


also, my car shakes quite a bit while going down the highway at 80mph.

its fine at 70, but anything above 80mph and it'll start shaking..

what should i check or do to rectify this issue?

my guess is get the tires re-balanced and the front end aligned?

 

cmon, im sure that someone has a checklist on things to look for these problems......

well, i'm no expert, but if i remember correctly... neons are known to shake at high speed.... I heard somewhere that it's due to the camber alignment or something... but basically at 70 or 80 you'll definitly get vibration ( I get it too.. ) and unless you go for a really precise tuning of the alignment then would it helps a little but you'll still get a little vibration. I'll see if i can find the post to it and put a link to it later

My car hasn't seen 80 in a while, but the last time I was going 100+ I thought it was going to fall apart. [&:]

 

weird.....I don't have any issues at 90+ and I usually see that speed daily on my commute. Both before and after swaping the springs (my alignment is off now iwth the new springs). Am I one of the lucky ones?

 

yea, idk my car used to not do that at all, but i think its just because one of my tires got a flat, and i had to replace the tire, so i think im gonna try and take my car back in and have them balance the tires again.

as for my A/C problem, does anyone have any idea on what i should check on that before i replace some expensive parts?

 

theres no problem with neons and shaking. its people not having their car aligned and shaking. take it in for an alignment and all your problems will be solved. if not, get the tires balanced.
