yea, theres this sticker on my 00' neon, and its an authorized modification for my PCM/ECU, and i was wondering what the part number means, or what it is.

the PN is 5293022AR, and ive tried looking it up on dodgeparts.com and i cant find it.

anyone that works for chrysler here have any idea what it is?


edit: mydodgeparts.com says its a dodge engine controller, but does anyone know what year it is from? or how i can tell if its a base neon's computer, or an R/T etc?

 

Where is the sticker exactly?

 

its right on the frame by the top of the radiator, it's a little left of the hood latch

i think i might be able to get a pic of it and post it on here, but idk how good my camera phones quality is.

 

 

Its probably just telling you that an updated PCM software is "installed" on your PCM.

 

what is the point of updating software to your pcm? i have seen a couple of posts about it but none really go into detail

 

Its just like downloading a Windows Update on your PC, they find bugs, tweak some thing here and there, etc. I have a reflashed PCM that took away the 1st to 2nd gear "lag" for example that a lot of people complain about...

 

o i see, and how would one go about getting it updated?

 

Take it to a dealer, have them update the program for $100 with a DRB scantool to reflash (update) to the most recent PCM software (which you may already have btw).

 

how would you know anyway lol, is there any way to find out without taking it to the dealer?
