Default Pulley cover question and PN Needed...

i got this pic off of the MP website and it seems as though they took off the cover that goes over the mount and UD pulley i guess to show the pulley. is this safe, will it cause damage to the pulley and or mount? the reason i'm asking is that today i was cleaning my rims and notice that my "cover" (not sure the name of it) had been rubbing against the pulley and is now somewhat torn and is actuallyfalling off. anyway does anyone know if it will harm anything if i take it off, if so, does anyone know the part number or name of it at least so i can get a replacement? thanks!

Seems dangerous if something were to get in there. Covers are usually to keep stuff out that could cause damage [:'(]
