Hmmm...dirty water eh? Sounds like a mold and/or mildew problem...
I would check the little drain coming off the A/C...if you cant find it just run the A/C for a while, turn it off, and see if water drips down. If there is no water then it is clogged, if there is water there still may be something in it not allowing all the condensation to get out of the unit...which is why your smelling dirty water.
