ok yall. i need some advice.
im looking to buy my first car and a dodge neon is one of the cars im considering. i like dodges and want something a little less expensive then a charger, or avenger, or anything like that. but i still want it to look nice, have some power, and run good. so would a neon be a good choice? and if not, what else should i consider? can ya help me out guys?

dodge neon 1st car u own last car u drive they are pretty good starter car, not expensive, pretty good on gas and most of the time romp on the neighboor hood ricer civic with 20" rims and 6" tip

 

I think your lookin for a srt4 neon something with both power and looks. You can find one from 10 grand to 19 grand just really check out the engine and tranny and youll be set. good luck and have fun lookin.

 

Well, if ya want it fast, an srt-4 will do the trick! Otherwise, you will have to sacrifice the "power" idea, lol. I did a ton of research on cars before I made a decision to getmy neon. They have a great price tag and they got great reviews from msn autos and consumer reports. I've only had mine for nearly 4 months, but no complaints so far, plus they're alot of fun to personalize.

 

YES! Please for the love of God, get it checked out before u purchase and get a car history report if u can---it saved me from a few lemons!

 

Yeah if you want power than an srt4 is a must . I had an acr srt4 in white and I modded the crap out of the engine and the exterior I just went mod crazy with that and thats why I had to sell her they get pretty expensive to mod especilly engine mods wow . A acr srt4 is something to look into getting awesome suspension .

 

A few questions before I answer. One, what is your real budget for the new car? Two, are you going to have a car payment, or are the parents paying it off in full? Three, are you paying the insurence, or are you? Because SRT-4's have ungodly high insurance costs, especially for a teenage driver.

There was a 17 year old kid that looked what it would cost for an SRT-4 on the forums here. He said it cost him $500 month. Neons themselves aren't that bad though...just the SRT-4s.

 

I know an 18 year old guy that's paying 105 for his insurance a month.

Don't get a neon if you want power. Get an SRT-4. There's really no comparison

 

lol. my insurance is 150 a month.
2 neons, both full coverage
jeep wrangler full coverage.

it sucks being old, but the insurance is cheap.
