ok i know all the tranny swap info, my question is for the sohc to dohc....

q1. I will use the throttle body, intake & exhaust manifolds from the dohc correct?
q2. Also will my computer accept the Dohc??
q3. And just to make sure the dohc does go onto my block correct???

Whoa wait a minute chief...what DOHC head are you swapping onto a 03-05 2.0 block?

I'm tired of waiting fior you to answer lol...so, the 2.4 DOHC head will not work on the 2.0 block, a DOHC head from a 1st Gen DOHC will bolt up to the block, and you'll need the following: intake manifold, exhaust manifold, throttle body, sensors, timing belt and its drive components, cam gears and engine wiring harness. You would also need a DOHC computer or MS so you can get the fuel and spark tables right, but the car would still run on a SOHC PCM, just not very good. The IAC's are different, so you would need to splice in those kinds of things...

In all reality your better off just swapping in a Magnum cylinder head...

 

sorry it took so long, yeah after looking into it and from what you said not only is the head swap a pin in the ***, but it will be to costly and basiclly pointless as far as power goes! Thanks for yeur help tho...

the atx to mtx swap should not be all that bad, it is best to hve a donur car. I have two cars with complete motor, tranny & interiors, and 5 or six with interiors at the local junk yard so i should not have too many issues.

$250!?!? dang man! you've got a good deal... I have an atx too... and i wanted atx so badly... and i'm thinking that a tranny swap for me might cost me about 1 grand just for parts...

 

yeah, its a older mtx though, still havent decided if i eant to do this one or wait till i find a year alot closer to mine... we will see

 

I was planning on buying an 2.4L with the t850 tranny and doing the swap myself. Once I get the funds.
