Default Whining

Whenever I'm driving there's a whining noise coming from the engine. I can't understand what it is and it's gotten to where it drives me crazy. It's not the whine from the power steering and it stops once I get above 4k RPMs
Anyone know what it is/how to stop it?

Thanks for any help

check the power-steering fluid. if it gets half way down it will start to whine...

Power steering fluid says it's above full...and there's a different whine when I corner hard, which I think is specifically the power steering. This whining is constant when I'm under 4k RPMs.

An I've got a MTX (manual)

It doesn't do it in neutral, so it must be the tranny then...
Bad news?

Mine sounds like it's coming from the exhaust, like underneath

is yours more in the engine bay?
