my stuts do the same and all so make a knocking sound its been driving me mad am going to strip them down this weekend and see whats going on.
I fixed the problem today. The rubber bushing that connected to the A frame was rubbing together. Mine was doing it on both sides. I just took WD-40 and sprayed on the rubber. Fixed them both. So it wasnt the struts.

My wifes '99 Dodge Caravan recently had it's struts replaced at 100K miles and now it has a "squeek" in it. Didn't do it with the old, stock strutts but with teh new ones it does. Don't know if you could get something like an oil or grease around the area where it is making the noise or not. If someone figures this out I'd like to try the fix on the van.

ok, i tried tightening everything... and they're tightened but it still didn't go away... so for me i'm just gonna turn my stereo up and ignore it
Clunking from the rear struts is pretty common when you install lowering springs and new struts. For whatever reason it makes the upper mounts make a clunking noise, the only solution I've seen is to fill the mounts with urethane...mine clunk with the Prokit and HP Blues, but I ahvent gotten around to fixing it yet.ORIGINAL: dodgeneonz
