Default any shifter install tips

Got any tips?

One thing I would like to know is about the shifter ****. I was just messing around and decided to pull up a few times...well, it seems really tough. I haven't really tried but do you have any tips for that lol? To get into a good pulling position is hard. its so awkward lol. But I heard there are some other things that are a pain. so any would be great, thanks

And if its manual just push down on the **** and turn. It will come right off than, I do not recall which direction it was but you will figure it out.

The center council comes out pretty easy. I think there is two screws in the cup holders and one screw once you open the arm rest. Than you just have to pop off the two cables, and remove the stock shifter and install the new shifter. I am currently trying to make my own short throw shifter, if it does not turn out to well I will just but the maddog sts. I only changed out the rod in mine but that should be all you have to do. It will be pretty easy.

i think its more complicated than changing out the rod. For instance, this STS that reduces 72% has the same rod length as the stock one.

I am moving the ball up an inch and adding an inch onto the bottem of the rod. And I will than raise the mount the shifter sits in up an inch. So it should keep the stock height, give me a shorter throw. I dont think there is anything else that will need to be done?

yeah, i don't know anything about how it works. I always that that making it shorter would be the way it works. Because its like a lever. If you have to turn it 180 degrees and it was 5 feet tall and you did it from the top you would have to walk to turn it. The distance would be farther but if it was 5 inches then you could do it with the flick of a wrist. I guess thats not how they do it though lol.
