Microsoft Rant...
wow i didn't know the dvd player was compatible with the pc. thats cool. blu-ray has a similar deal though on the movies, but the players are expensive as hell. i am still on the fence on who is gonna win the format war. i want hd-dvd to win but blu ray has more support fromseveral companies, i believe microsoft only has two.

Since my issue is over, let me get into this PS3 vs 360 discussion...
I was a hardcore Sony fan even when the first xbox was released. Since i played Forza 1, i scrapped my PS2 and never looked back.
With the 360, even with the bull****, i still would not trade it for anything else on the market. Sony is gonna stick themselves very soon with this blue-ray crap. HD-DVD is going to win the battle, mark my words. And the reason for this is because of the **** industry. **** has chosen HD-DVD. Although some is released on BR, Sony makes it way to expensive for the industry to produce the discs. They want all the control just like with the sony mini-discs. Mini-discs were a great idea, but sony kept the exclusive rights and would not let anybody else make players. **** decided the VHS vs. BETA war and it will do the same with the high def dvd war also.
Xbox 360 HD-DVD for $170 plus 7 HD-DVDs for free!? thats right: And because its external and hooks up through USB it is compatible with your PC. Great for my 19" wide screen lcd.
I do not find anything appealing about the PS3. Yes they have exclusives, but noting that excites me. Final fantasy and Metal Gear Solid are rumored to be released on the 360... http://emaglive.com/index.php?showtopic=1988 If PS3 loses those then they are done.
Xbox Live completes the ultimate package. The ability to go online and see all your friends playing has changed the way i play video games. I used to know what i was gonna play before my console was even turned on. Now i turn on the box, see who's online, see what they are playing, and choose from there... HD movie rentals, TV shows, Music, xbox live arcade, demo's, etc... PS3's "Home" is never gonna touch xbox live, especially if they still plan to offer it for free.
All in all, i will always chose Microsoft... but no matter how much we go back and forth about the 360 vs. PS3 we all know the Wii is kicking both our asses. Nintendo has opened up a market that was never in the video game demographic before.

Personally, I hate the 360. As a piece of hardware, it is inutterly a piece of ****. The PS3 was much better fabricated, tons more stable and deffinetely better looking.
I hope HD-DVD wins the war, because my GF is getting me the HD player LOL
GT5 doesn't stand for Grand Theft Auto 5. That would be GTA5. GT5 stands for Gran Turismo 5 which is exclusive. And some of the parts they are putting in the system have been said to be more powerful to match the PS3s power. So they are spending more money to say they are just as strong when it doesn't matter. Honestly, I don't really care. The fact is PS3 has a lot more future than the 360. Computer will swamp the 360 in a year and the graphics won't match the PS3s after all the testing is completed. The amount of the PS3 is not a lot for whats in it. Since the blu-ray player is a $1000 alone. The war is still pretty tight. Even though companies say they are behind one I see stuff that says they have picked both...weird huh? The question that will decide the format war in my opinion is, "Is blu-ray overkill?"
My opinions...Halo 3 is overrated and there are a lot of games just as good. The only game I would buy the 360 for is Forza 2 and Gears. I respect both systems and of course xbox live. I think in the near future the PS3 will dominate.
PS2 vs. Xbox
-PS2 had many many bugs and problems
-Xbox came out late and was selling worse than the dreamcast!
-It was costing Microsoft more money to make it than sell it
-More power than the PS2
-No good games at first
-Good games came later on
Later one Xbox came out over PS2
PS3 vs. Xbox 360
-Xbox 360 had many many bugs and problems
-Came out later than the 360
-Costing Sony more money to make it than sell it
-More power over the 360a
-No good games at first
-The games are coming
Notice anything here??
Btw, Blu-ray isn't just for movies ya know. The games have it too and that means double the space over HD-DVD. Which, I'm not even sure about this. Does the 360 have HD-DVD or just a DVD player? Either way PS3 has more room to make the games longer or contain more things to do.
Like I said, I don't really care too much and I will probably get both in the future. I'm not a fan boy. I just look at the facts.

the ps3 IMO will not win the console war, i see the Wii being the 360 competition. Hell like graphite said, the Wii is outselling both consoles right now. One of my friends is the biggest Sony fan ever, and even he thinks that the ps3 will flop. There are too many so called "exclusives" that are slowly but surely making their way to the 360, its only a matter of time until MGS goes to the 360. As you said Xbox live is awesome, that is probably the number 2 if not 1 reason the console is doing so well. If you notice, the PS3 "arcade" has copied a lot of stuff the xbox has done and renamed it.
and as for graphics, the in-game graphics have been better on the 360 on many games, the only plus i see in the graphics for the ps3 is the cinematics, thats pretty much it. go to www.gamespot.com and check out their graphics comparisons. XBOX 360 FTMFW,
"the games are coming"----are you referring to MGS and GT5? if so, at least for me, that wouldn't justify spending 500 or 600 bills on one just for those games. Like i said i have a ps3 so i already spent the money lol, but in all honesty, all i have done was watch Talladega Nights, check out some of the arcade games, then put a shirt over the system so it wont collect too much dust lol. I have tried to sell it on several occasions but no one wants it lol. Why did i buy one you ask? I had the money at the time so I said "ahhhh what the hell"

Honestly, I know a few people with a Wii. They don't like it. They all say they love the system but there are no games for it lol. Most people just play wii sports haha. I think the Wii hype will settle down when people realize that there are no games to play but wii sports haha.
As far as graphics goes the 360 is simpley better because it has had more testing. The games that have had better graphics on the 360 over PS3 are made by EA. I think they are doing it on purpose too. Because it is a fact that the PS3 can handle more. Thats just how it is lol. Games like oblivion that aren't EA have been proved to have much better graphics than the 360 version though. Some graphics that are in testing for the PS3 have looked something like the FF VII: advent children movie. I don't understand how because I don't see how anything can render that fast with those graphics lol. but its rumored. The gamespot comparisons are mostly EA games btw.
There are a lot more than just GT and MGS coming. Just because xbox is getting some of those titles doesn't mean too much. It just means they are finally getting in the game haha. They don't just have halo now. Instead of Playstation having all the good games xbox has some of them.

Grand Turismo was decent in the past and the third one was alright after that it wasn't that fun. Here is the thing about the PS3, who is going to want to dish out that amount of money for a system that is yes better and more powerful the the 360, but you play one game on the PS3 and the exact same one on the 360. You won't notice much of a difference. Why, because Sony and other companies aren't using the full amount of crap the PS3 can actually do.
Here is the first quarter for the systems. These are how many units shipped.
Nintendo DS: 1,232
Nintendo Wii: 1,029
Playstation 2: 874
Xbox 360: 721
PSP: 567
PS3: 501
GC: 69
This is after the 360 has been out for years, and the PS3 and Wii for about one year. They had to get rid of some of the PS3 systems because they weren't selling. It is a neck and neck race right now on who is going to win (Blu-ray vs HD) and Blu-ray is catching up. I am not sure where you got your price for the Blu-ray player, but here is one from an expensive store. For $499.99 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1186004519330
You might have to wait about another year to have a decent selection for any PS3 exclusive games for the system to even have it worth being bought. There is not much future for the PS3 since it can't keep up with its competitors. The Wii is dominating since they hardly spend money on the system and they charge enough to make huge profit from it. The PS3 would have done better if they didn't include the Blu-0ray and just did an add on like the 360.
there are several articles that are saying the developers are not very into the ps3 as it is really hard to program for. i don't know, but i really think the 360 is too far ahead to be caught up to. as far as numbers go, the wii is ahead of the three. Butwhich ever wins, I will have it
, by the time the ps3 catches up, there will be another xbox console out lmao.
all the power and potential the ps3 has is more than the xbox maybe BUT it doesn't mean a damn thing if the software doesn't support or back it up. Yea you have an insane system with a lot of power but nothing to back it up so it really its not worth it if you think about it.

NBA LIVE 08 can you tell me which one is the X360 version? A or B?

top one is 360... as neon03 mentioned... although PS3 has potential, most of the developers don't like it. Ive seen many quotes saying that the PS3 is just too difficult. If you can make a gome on the PC you make a game on the 360. Developers love that!

BTW, i love debates like this... love to see the different points made. helps to compare.

the price and amount of people playing the game is kinda of irrelevant to say if its overrated or not. The amount of people buying and playing the game shows the hype it has. And I don't see why everybody was so excited for halo 3. First of all I want to say that it is a good game. However the story line kinda blows compared to other games IMO. I mean, Aliens vs. Humans? how creative? Auto aim? come on. I have heard from several huge halo fans that the new maps blow, I agree. The single player took me 4 hours to beat the first time through. Is that worth hours of air time on tv, magazine reviews every where, people staying in line at night, buying a freakin helmet? I don't think so.
The graphics are coming. They are still testing remember.
The price I got from the blu-ray player was the original one that came out. I guess they have dropped them. I don't know if HD DVD players have dropped but those were around 500 or 600 when they came out.
You may be right about the PS3 being caught up when the next console comes out. That is what happened to the xbox. I mean...its very likely.
As far as graphites comparison goes...There is something weird about that. The bottom one is incredibly pixelated which it shouldn't be. I don't see why EA is doing that to its games. The PS3 has more power and should have better graphics, thats all there is to it. I could understand if EA had that game and there was another company on the PS3 that couldn't match up. But when its the same company they should be able to pull off the same or better graphics. The PS3 definitely has more depth in the picture but its so pixelated. The 360s has terrible lighting and its all haloed. Its like they are angels. Its kind of blurred and hazy. However I think the 360 is more believable. Its just weird that the same company can put out the same game but one looks like crap when it should be the opposite.

As far as EA and the graphics go, i think it falls back to the developing on each of the systems. 360 is more user friendly when it comes to developing. As my posts are mainly my opinion, here is the opinion of an actual game developer on both systems: http://www.hardcoreware.net/reviews/review-348-1.htm
