I wouldn't really say it's faded, since the bumper is darker in color than the rest of the car. It's more of a maroon than a fire red.
I asked the owner of the car lot if he knew what they were for, and he said that he didn't know. All he told me was that they were on there when he bought it from another dealer.
Will it be any harder to install a new headunit with the CD-changer or will it not matter?

It doesn't really matter to me if I have a CD changer or not. All the CDs I have are in the mp3 format and have upwards of 100 songs on each one, so a CD changer doesn't matter to me. If anything I would probably take it out and sell it on ebay or something.
