Default Neon 2001 - Need some serious help Please

I'm total newb to this forum. I'm in serious problem .

I have 2001 Neon and it has had boiling-sound problem for few months now. Whenever I drove it started making boiling noise, once in idol possition. I didn't care that much since it's thermostat stayed at in reasonable position - below half way during summer time.

Now it has started making noise even when I am driving. It made me a little worried and I called my mechanic. He told me to change radiator cap. I just bought a new cap and just came back from test drive.

result - even worse. It's temp needle went all the way to the maximum and harder boiling noise.

It's winter time now dont want to get trapped. I feel like total crap now, I think it has some major issue which is going to screw me up big time - money wise.

You guys think, if there is any other possibility.....arrrggg I hate Neon....*&$#*$*^

temp gaugegoes and stays to the highest possible possition an doesn't come back. Just coming back from another test drive and got stuck few miles away from my home, stopped there for 1/2 hour to cool off a bit and came back.[:@]

I think the last leaky radiator cap kept it cool by realeasing it's air, now since I got a new cap it gets overheat.[]

to flush the radiator you can do a couple things. What most people do is disconnect the radiator tubes and drain the fluid out. Grab a hose, or some sort of pressurized water device, and flush everything out with water. Connect the lines, fill with 1/2 water, 1/2 coolant, be on your merry.

It isn't a hard job...

Ok, just used up lots of water to solve this issue. I could find only coolant-IN tube but couldn't find the other one to flush everything out (coolant-Out), but I tried my best to wash the whole damn thing. Then assuggested, added halfn half.

Took it for a test drive, looked ok so far, will be able to post themore accurate after longer drive (I'm kind of scared to do that though). If you guys think there is anything else I should’ve done, please advise me with that as well.

Water was damn....tooo cold.[&o]

LOL!!!

Yea... water out your garden hose can be ice cold.

Hopefully it works. Flushing your radiator sounds like it might have fixed some of the issues. If you have anymore, please post them up.

The only other thing I cna think of is a new temp sensor.... but, we shall wait and see. Boiling... might have been a multitude of things ranging from:

Not enough in the radiator
too much water, not enough coolant

etc. etc.
