Default 03 motor mounts shot!

I have an 03 Neon SE with the 2.0 and all motor & Trans mounts are bad and need to be replaced.
My "friend" has a auto shop and before my "family & friend" discount they want $1,162 to replace them!!! NOT a good deal to me?[:@]
So what I'm asking is how hard are they to replace? and where is the best place to buy them from?
Thanks, Marty

If somebody is charging your 1162 dollars for motor mounts then you shouldnt be friends with them anymore.

From what ive heard motor mounts are pretty to change. I think you will need either an engine hoist or a good jack to hold the engine in place while you change the lower motor mounts and tranny mount. The top one is really easy to change. im not sure about it i think its a rough idea

ill let 03neonrt chime in

Not hard at all and you can buy either the race or street over at modern for like 32bucks shipped I think . I got mine for 13bucks from someone on here . Race are better overall imo.

total labor is 5.8 hours for both motor mounts and the trans mount, if it were warranty chrysler pays 3.3 hours. Are the mounts he's using made of solid gold?

Yeah I know what you mean about the friend part!! LOL Most of the time they are pretty good with me on stuff, but some times not so good like in this case.
Like they want..
$119 for rear motor mount
$81 for right lower mount
$85 for left upper mount
$134 for Trans mount
and then $658 for labor.
Does any one know if there is a "how do" on this?

Well I put my new motor mounts in this week!!! The upper & lower ones were not bad at all, the Trans mount was a PITA and when we did get it off the new one was not the same!!! And it was too late in the day to find the right one and the old one looked ok so we put it back in and the other motor mount we didn't even mess with as it looked like it was more of a PITA then the Trans mount was!!
Car drives much nicer now but when you stop and have it in gear it has a bad vibration now, but when driving it doesn't????

1,000 to replace motor mounts huh,,,,,,,,that has to be one of the most, if not the most, ridiculous things i have ever heard. i would NEVER take my car to that person again and thats after a "discount" lmao wow i think it is the most ridiculous thing ever. what the hell is their problem lol. youcanget a body kit and get it painted for less than that

Yeah I know that and that's why I didn't take it to them. That was for all mounts not just the 2 easy ones to get at, but yeah still to much money.
So do you know why I might be getting the bad vibration now??
