Default 05 exterior question

recently picked up a 2005 sxt and the outside trim on the b pillars looks messed up. it almost looks like it has a film of oil over it - sorta of rainbow effect. is this something that is common, or has happened to anyone? wanted to ask before i went to my local stealer and started the arguement with them.

Do you mean like, the rubber around the windows? Instead of black it becomes grey?

It has happened to me. I just thought the rubber was dry...

He's talking the B Pillars in between the front and rear side windows. I think it happens from sitting in the sun. Mine were like that, but i bought some clear vinyl type material off a website that helpsrestore and protect it,and it helped. I forgot the website where i bought i though.

Question: The rubber around my windows has turned grey i think from this wax i used on my car this one time. Anyone know how torestore it back toblack?

I thought to maybe paint the rubber black but that would require alot of taping and masking.

Is there a product out there that will restore the rubber to black?

the piece in question is actually on the doors. the rear part of the front door, and front of the rear. click here to see an ebay auction for vinyl covers for the area i am speaking about. since it has happened to at least one other person i know it isn't just the car i bought. gonna have to get a good nights sleep tonight for my battle at the stealership tomorrow.

the best thing i found to remove bugs is the origional magic eraser, they say not to use it on car bodys... but I've used it countless times and it works, no damage, just make sure you wash your car first to avoid getting dirt on the eraser, then it will streek black all on your car
