and they've got good safety rating!!
I know you don't mean that.
They have average saftey ratings...nothing to be impressed about, but they arent death traps either.

unless you drive like a maniac then anything becomes a death trap...
Yeah the 1st gens had a "Poor" safety rating while the 2000's and up had "Marginal."

For the NW, for a lower mileage 04-05 seems to be about 10k, depending on location. This seem about right?

Yeah, this will be stock. It's gonna be the trip car, since we are using my truck ALL of the time now with the horses, winter etc. and her mustang getting 14mpg.

You can probably find something a bit better, but most are around 10. I paid that for my '03 R/T. Oh, pics of the g/f plz.[/color]

Ill search, but

What is the difference between an SXT and an R/T
Performance Difference:
1. Magnum Cam (equivalent to a Crane 12) w/ stronger valve springs.
2. Aluminum Dual-Runner Intake Manifold with functioning butterfly actuators.
3. 2.25" Dual Outlet Exhaust (MUCH more free flowing then the standard exhaust)
4. Magnum Exhaust Manifold (Same as the aftermarket Borla header).
5. Magnum Head (larger intake/exhaust ports, much better flowing).
6. No top speed limiter...similar rev limiter (6,815 vs. 6,750 on a standard)
7. Four-wheel disc brakes with ABS (rear discs are the same as on SRT-4's).
8. Tokico Struts, stiffer spring rates, and front/rear sway bars.
9. Dynamic Suspensions Double Adjustable Inverted Struts (ACR ONLY).
10. "Firm Feel" Power Steering.
11. Different PCM programming...along with different fuel maps and better spark timing.
12. 9.8:1 Compression Ratio.
13. 3.94 Final Drive Transmission

Body Difference:
1. Side skirts
2. Rear Bumper w/ Dual Outlet Exhaust Cutouts.
3. Different front seats
4. Leather steering wheel/shift ****/shift boot/optional leather seats.
5. 16" Aluminum Alloy Wheels

R/Ts have 2.5 inch exhaust, don't we?

No we just have a less restrictive 2.25" compared to the SRT and base Neons.

if you are planning on getting a 05 sxt from the dealership it should be about $10000 to11000 + tax with 16- 20,000 miles on it,for a certified used vehicle. it will have the balance of the factory waranty 3/36 and 8/80 powertrain. dont go for an extented waranty. waste of money. ive had 3 neons and so far two of them have well over 100k miles without major repairs. the most i ever spent at one time was for struts.

alot of folks say dont buy from the dealership, but if you go to a major one who is concerned about his reputation, then you wont be let down, and you will get a 8/80 powertrain with a certified used dodge vehicle.

Thanks for your help guys. SHe picked up an 05 SXT, everything but cruise control. 31k mi. for 10k today. Loves it. Little much, but its what she wanted. Gray color

Drove it, tranny is tight, everything seems okay, except the front windows. They sound like they are hitting metal on the door pillar about 85% of the way up, till shut. This normal? all the windows do it. You can also grab them all, and move them forward and rear a bit. They shut and seal good, and all the way. are tight when shut. She is taking it for them to look at, jsut thought i would ask here

I run amsoil in my truck, and all my bikes. Thinking about switching her over too, any suggestions?

Also, can i program the honk when lock with the key fob on and off with the fob, or do i take it in. I hate that.
