A tune up before you go, along with checking fluid levels and tire pressure, about all I can think of. I don't have a 4th gear, but my car was in 3rd, at 3.5 rpm for about 2 hours, didn't seem to hurt her. I made that trip 6 times that week.

Hey that's a good idea, quick tune up.

So:

-Change sparks
-Change Oil
-Recharge filter
-Tighten couplers and hoses (especially tranny)
-Change tranny fluid
-Add wiper fluid for those godamn bugs
-Tire PSI
-Spare Jack/Tire
-Alignment
-Balance
-Seafoam in tank for octane boost

Wow, there went all the money for the damn trip!

neon's are great for road trips! I driven mine from San Diego to Michigan and back like 4 times now..... talk about long high rpms i've killed a whole tank at 90+ in one shot before.... never had a problem on the trips!

 

ur car will be fine ...check tires, oil change, fluids,keep ur exhaust on, allignment isnt really necessary...should be done at least once a yr but people never do it....and just cruise.....enjoy it
