Rev limiters are wonderful. I can see getting rid of a speedlimiter... Rev limiters save lives

The Megasquirt comes with connecters(or it should) to attatch to a laptop or desktop PC or mac (depending on how lame you are you own the latter). You don't NEED a laptop to run MS. You unplug your stock ECU, and run the MS as the ECU. Once you found what you wanted (or didn't), you unplug it and fix it. Having a laptop is just nice.

Ok, so your power band is 7200rpm but where do you make max. toqure? I've notice that I drop about 500rpm between gears, that means I need to be 500rpm over my max. toqure rpm when I shift to drop back into max. toqure. Going to max. rpm, i.e. 7200rpm may not be the best shift point for you in a race. You should shift so you'll come back into your max. toqure range, max. rpm has nothing to do with it.

This might fix your problem. I didn't know that Jet was re-programing the stock ECMs but it looks like they are. I know there piggy back moduals are crap, your ECM will re-learn it's settings so the Jet piggy back modual will be pretty much useless after some time but this looks like it'd be great since your actual ECM is being re-programed.

Here's an even better solution. It's 4 time more money BUT it'll allow YOU to program your ECU the way that you want it and as many times as you'd like. A few mods, program the ECU for em', add more mods at a later date, re-program your ECU for those. When I get $1200 bucks that I can spend and not feel guilty about it I'm for sure getting one of these bad boys.

P.S.
OK, I see the deal, the Software is 1156.00 and the Hardware is $1297.33 for a grand total of $2453.33, WOW. Expensive but I guess that'd be the price you'd pay to program your own ECU.

Man, how times have changed. "Back in the Day" all you needed was a distributor wrench and some jets for your carb and you could do what you're spending $2500 bucks(plus I'd need a lap top so add another $500) to do. And they call this progress, LOL.
