Where do you live? I'd just try another dealer, easy to do around here. Some dealerships are full of @$$ holes, and some are just awesome, luck of the draw.

to be honest though my only experience is with the parts departments, other than buddies that work at the gm and chrysler dealerships in town.

Gerald, MO. I talked with a couple of service guys over the phone and they've all told me the ECMs are VIN and/or SKIM specific. Dunno.

So would a used ECM work in my Neon and run with the security crap functional? If I bought a used ECM, what all would I need? Just the ECM and "old" VIN? Current keys would work? Thanks for your input.

Where did you get that? I know a guy locally that works on Dodge cars and has a DRBIII. Would he be able to re-write the VIN?

honestly I've never programed a skim, but according to this he should, It would depend on the functions he has availible on his drb, but I'd bet he could. You would still need the pcm reprogrammed, or the "PROM" which is specifically Programmable read only memory.
