Default Immobilizer Bypass 2001 Neon ??

Hello,

My 2001 Neon ECM went out. I located a used ECM but I would like to keep my existing key/tumblers (saving a little $$$). Is it possible to bypass the immobilzer so as not to install a another one and/or having the dealer program anything? I dealer ECM is about $700+ plus labor. Any help is appreciated.

BTW - I am open to whatever is suggested --

I was told they could not program a used computer. Had to buy a new one or install a used computer, key & tumbler and immobilizer. I am really open to anything at this point.

Thanks.

Contact this place and ask if they can help you. These are the people that reflash staged computers for the SRT-4.

BTW - I have all the required parts from a 2000 but when I put them all in, the engine ran like crap but it did start. Is there some crossed wires going from the 2000 to 2001? Anyone know? Thanks in advance.

I called a dealership in the city and was quoted $520 for a reman ecm. Part#R5293107AK.I was told a used ecmcan not be used because of theSKIM. Any truth to this? As I found a used one online for less than $100. Thansk in advance.

Total ****. The dealership doesnt want to do the reflash because of liablity issues most likely, not because they cant..

Is there a procedure for this that I can present to them? Or something else I need to ask them to do?
