dad says the rear sway bar will give you over steer and will make the car loose. this is why you're sliding

change the diameter of the rear sway bar to correct this (smaller diameter)

before you ask "well what does he know" he's 72 and has raced cars before.
OR...buy an even bigger front and bigger rear sway bar *Hotchkis*...problem solved.

Also...your DAD is 72 years old!?!?!?

Well I have the SRT-4 front and rear sway bar set up. But I think the LCA bushings did the point and shoot business...the rear sway just killed it in terms of sliding.

very common on neons when upgrading suspension, particularly sways... be careful and i suggest you find your local SCCA chapter and try some auto-x so you can learn the limits of your car in a controlled environment.

+1!!

I agree completely.

Now, the SCCA doesn't do things on the street, it is a highly organized group of people whom race, professionally, in courses designed to provoke over-steer, under-steer, and to be fun over-all. It is really fun, and I guarrantee you that you will learn how far to take your car after 3 runs. I promise.

Aside from that, new bushings will liven up your suspension and the feel of everything by tightening it all up. Not a lot of play in those new bushings as opposed to the old ones. Adding front and rear sways, your car is now very point and shoot mainly thanks to your front sway bar. Upgrading the front sway bar will commonly do that.

If you want a better feeling, buy a d*mn nice set of coil-overs and you would be amazed.

I'm confused...the current setup you have now is inducing oversteer. But since you have SRT-4 front and rear sway bars, won't having a bigger front sway bar give you understeer since they're mismatched? [&:]

I don't think the setup would be bad at all if I hadn't put the bushings in.

Took a sharp turn around 40 tonight, lost control of the rear...slid a couple directions and hit a curb...
