hi all,
i am having a problem with getting a LOT of water in my trunk and on my back floor behind driver. i mean a lot like 1 to 1.3 inches of water! any ideas how to fix this and what is causing it ? please help!

Do you have a spoiler on your trunk?

 

from what i understand, check these three seals:

1) Spoiler
2) Trunk
3) Tail light gaskets

U can check them by having someone spray a water hose over the areas while u lay in the trunk looking for water coming in.

 

i had water coming in from my tail lights. so i used a silicon caulk type stuff to line the gaskets and press them in place. it helped. hasnt leaked since.

u dont have to take apart the tails.

behind the carpet, in the trunk, near the tail lights should be 3 black plastic screw things (lmao) that hold in on.

unscrew those and the tails will pop out. the gasket will be a rubbery foam material in between the tail light and car body.

 

What's up man!That has to me before with my car and I own a 2004 SXT.And Iwas getting water in my trunk and back seat's floorand front seat floor.I was told to change the weather stripping.

 

or you could just revitalize the rubber seals by spraying silocone spray on them it saves money rather than buying news stuff.
