Magnum + speed limiter question
Ok, I think this first question was answered but I want to be sure.
1. Can you take the speed limiter off without swapping heads out? I think 118 is way to low to get near 12s lol.
2. Magnum head is better than the regular head...duh. My question is, are there any limits to the regular head? What I mean is, If I put as much money as I could into a magnum and then did the same for the regular head will they turn out to be like the same? I just want to make sure I don't buy the head and just gut the parts out and replace instead of just not spending money on a chunk of head I already have and replace the stuff in that.
Thanks guys. Just trying to find the best choice.

Depends on if you have the regular head ported and polished. If you find someone that can do the work then the standard head modded out will flow just as well if not better then a Mag head, BUT how much will you end up spending. You can get the bare Mag Head for $390 buck, that's not too bad at all. If you can get your standard head P&P'ed for less then go that way, if it'll be more then just pick up a bare Mag head and build it. Here's a link to the bare head.

Both heads are relitively the same if you are going to port and polish the **** out of them... But that would be taking it to the max and you'd probably have about $5000 into the head by the time your finished. Stick with the magnum head.
Also the speed limiter has nothing to do with the head, but with the program in the computers.

Of course if a person already had his car set up with a header and intake for the standard head it might be more cost effective to port and polish a standard head rather then buy a Mag head and have to get a new header and intake, especially with performance intakes running nearly $500 bucks. If you don't have a header or intake it'd probably be cheaper to get the Magnum head and pick up the stock Magnum intake and exhaust manifolds for it.
