when i bought this neon used i noticed that there was no bulb in the dome light and that the plastic dome wasmissing so i found a used assembly on ebay and bought it then i figured out why there was none for some reason the light does not turn off even with the doors closed, key in ignition and when u close doors if shuts off for a brief second then turns back on. I have reason to believe i have a eltrical problem with my car because battery dies after 5 days of just sitting there. autozone tech inspected the alternater and said it was good we checked the battery and said it was good even though the machine said low charge. does anyone know what can be wrong with my neon? please help.........!!!!

 

I'm not a mechanic or anywhere close...but I would recommend to check each one of your door jam switches individually...they're only held in with 1 screw and connected w/ a plastic wire harness...take them out one at a time and see if the dome goes off when u remove one of them..that could be your problem..I had kinda the opposit issue...had a bad door jam switch which caused the dome NOT to come on and the dinger not to work when u leave the keys in the ignition or the lights on...$10 or so bought a new one and fixed the issue.
