WELL WITH THE HUGE SUBS I HAVE INSTALLED IN MY 05 NEON HAS TAKEN A TOLL ON THE ORIGINAL ALTERNATOR AND THAT BAD BOY IS NOT CHEAP! WELL MY QUESTION IS HOW HARD IS IT TO INSTALL A NEW ONE CAUSE I WOULD RATHER NOT PAY SOME ONE I'M AN OK MECHANIC BUT IF IT MEANS TAKING APART HALF THE CAR I WOULD RATHER NOT.

 

Im pretty sure the alternator is up top, if you can replace belts and undo bolts you should be all set.

The altenator is very easy to replace... you don't have to take half the car apart.

Its easy and mine is on the bottom..... i just took my passenger wheel off and it took me abot 30min.

 

if you have subs that are too large for the alternator to keep the battery charged i would suggest you get an alternator that has a higher output so it will charge the battery.... i would also suggest a high farad capacitor in line before the amp.... if you have two amps i would suggest you get two....

 

thanks for the help im going to upgrade to a bigger altand change out the big 3... bigger wire from bat to alt from bat to frame and from engine to frame. then put a kintetic hc 800 amp battery in the trunk cause i going to install two solo x's and get a bigger amp. thanx

 

might want to get a grounding kit and a voltage stabilizer as well....
